Account Chamber of the Russian Federation

Article 1

The following amendments to be inserted to Article 6 of the Federal Law dated January 11, 1995, No. 4-FZ, "On the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation" (Collection of the legislation of the Russian Federation, 1995, # 3, Art. 167; 2004, # 49, Art. 4844; 2006, # 31, Art. 3427; 2007, # 10, Art.. 1151) as follows:

1) part three to be declared invalid;

2) part four to be put as follows:

"On presentation by the President of the Russian Federation, the Federation Council and the State Duma shall appoint six auditors of the Accounts Chamber, each for the term of six years. In case of declining the candidate proposed for the position of the auditor of the Accounts Chamber, the President of the Russian Federation shall introduce a new candidate within two weeks. In this connection, the President of the Russian Federation shall be entitled to present the same candidate for consideration of the Federation Council and the State Duma once more, or to nominate another candidate. The Act of the Federation Council on the appointment of auditors of the Accounts Chamber shall be adopted by the majority of the total number of votes of the Federation Council Members. The Act of the State Duma on the appointment of auditors of the Accounts Chamber shall be adopted by the majority of the total number of votes of the State Duma deputies."

Article 2

This Federal Law shall come into force from the date of its official publication.
